Hello Dolls!
As I’ve been in the process of upgrading to a bigger and better apartment in Midcity, I have been all over Pinterest, thrifting like it’s going out of style, and trying to come up with great craft ideas for low budget decor.

RagDoll on the Road: Ocean Springs, MS
Hello Dolls!
How are things? I hope Spring is treating you as beautifully as it is me! Last week I was able to tag along on an impromptu trip to Ocean Springs, MS with my babes (a.k.a. my boyfriend) while he was there for work, and I thoroughly enjoyed my day dates with myself. Although we only stayed one night, I was able to soak in everything the charming little town has to offer, including beach time!

When I wasn’t turning my skin lobster red, I was enjoying the adorable little square, antiquing, and of course thrifting! I stumbled across this adorable little place in the square called the “Lovelace Drug Store.” Not only were they uber friendly, but they had so much retro nostalgia I had to document.

Although the dining furniture appeared to be recreations, the soda fountain and prescription counter seemed original. The sweet lil lady working the fountain made me up a DELICIOUS cream soda float (1st time ever!) and was so excited to inform me that they made their own cream soda from scratch! They also use Barq’s Root Beer to bottle it with their very own labels.

I’m not sure how long this place has been here, but they definitely still kept their charm! Service was a bit slow, but when you are there for a lazy day afternoon with yourself it is just what the doctor ordered.
Before leaving, I convinced the babes to stop by one last thrift shop in Gulfport, MS. This lovely young man owned it with his wife, and he obviously knew how to handpick the perfect selection. Babes even left with this fantastic pair of pants, suspenders included.

If you ever have a chance to drop by this sweet little town, be sure to stay in the square at “The Inn.” Although we didn’t get a chance to stay there, it looks like an adorable little B&B and the locals rave about it!
Until we meet again,
Rachel

Throwback Thursday: Pushing Daisies Edition *Get the Look*
Hello Dolls!
Hope you had a fabulous Mardi Gras! We are in full swing gearing up for Spring! With our new season’s frocks in mind, I couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else out there was in love with the ABC series Pushing Daisies as much as I was… If you were able to overlook Ned’s adorable charm, then you probably noticed Chuck’s (aka Charles) daily and fabulously curated ensembles.

I tuned in specifically to ogle over her garments that never fell short of 50′s fabulous-ness! The colors and pattern selection were to die for, and who doesn’t love a full circle frock adorned with flowers!

Needless to say, Chuck’s fashion was a huge inspiration for RagDoll’s curated selection of 50′s to 60′s inspired designs. This still holds true even today, especially with Spring right around the corner! Designer’s are on their A-game in 2013, and here is your evidence! These styles plus many many more will be arriving at RagDoll’s door step as early as next month!

Chantelle Dress by Heartbreaker Fashion

Ain’t No Sunshine Dress by Trollied Dolly

We’re Back & Better Than Ever!
Hello Dolls!
I know it’s been a while, but we’re back in action and gearing up for Carnival season! Expect weekly updates on new items, new ideas, and what’s goin down in Nawlins, specifically at 818 Royal (That’s our new location if you didn’t know)!! We worked our little bums off getting everything moved over and set up in 3 days and boy was it worth it. After all the blood, sweat and tears (minus the blood) we officially opened our brand-spankin-new doors on New Years Eve and brought in the New Year right on our pretty little patio. We are so excited to finally be apart of all the French Quarter action. If you haven’t been in the new location or seen our pics on Facebook, here’s a sneak peak from the outside looking in…

We’re upstairs right above the infamous Casell Gallery!

Isn’t it so inviting!?! Come on in and see us at the new location and be on the lookout for our new Groupon coming out real soon!
Happy Carnival!

RagDoll on the Road: Christmas in New Orleans
Hello Dolls!
Sorry we’ve been gone for so long. We’ve had tons of new and exciting things happenin’ at RagDoll, and we’re finally ready to share them with you. First off, the lovely Jenny Sklar will no longer be RagDoll’s blogger persona. She has left the RagDoll family, therefore all posts here on out come from me (owner/manager of RagDoll)! This is one of the many new segments I’ll be creating for our blog. “RagDoll on the Road” will document all the exciting experiences we get to have while not actually at RagDoll!
Second, Christmas is coming!!!! The evidence is all around you. It’s a known fact that New Orleans likes to do everything over the top, and Christmas is no different. We had the delight of going downtown last weekend during the Krewe of Jingles Holiday Parade and here is our evidence!

It’s also a known fact that New Orleanians never stray from an opportunity to dress up in costumes.

Here’s the beautiful city all dressed up for the Holidays!

We also had the pleasure of participating in the Launch Party of “Ingenue & Camp,” a new and upcoming blog about the life of five New Orleans ladies and their love for fashion, food, and life in the “Big Easy.”

The lovely Lacey Becker and I pose in front of their giant present wall!

Me & my man

The most delicious Holiday drink I’ve ever had, you’re welcome!
We have much more exciting news ahead of us, so stay tuned!
Until we meet again,
Rachel
