Get the Look: Neon Green – Trending Hard
Hello Dolls,
If you haven’t already noticed, neon is THE fashion trend sweeping the nation this season. Bright neon hues are no longer saved for hipsters and highlighters. People of all ages are taking part in this fun fashion statement, including celebrities!

As usual, Katy Perry’s quirky fashion sense is a little over dramatic, but clearly neon is even welcome on the red carpet (or orange carpet in this instance). Though she is taking the neon trend a little too far, each of the separate pieces she’s wearing are great, just not all together in one outfit. Her shoes are particularly adorable, and quite similar to a snazzy pair we have at RagDoll!

These fabulous lime suede almond toe pumps are only $38 and they look great with a variety of styles and colors (as seen below). Take your little black dress to the next level with this serious pop of color!

Shoes are not the only neon accessory popping up in tabloids lately. One of the most popular items of the season is the coveted neon Hermes Birkin Bag. This purse costs somewhere between $10,000-$100,000 and is not even sold in stores or online! It has only been seen on British and American celebrities, like the Kardashians.

If you want to snag Kim’s chic style without taking out a loan look no further than RagDoll!

Our bright neon green satchel is only $56 and carries through the style and finesse of a classic Birkin Bag, with the hit color of 2012!
Neon dresses have also been all the rage this Spring and Summer. Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore and many other designers debuted spectacular neon frocks on runways around the world, and Zooey Deschanel sported a lovely neon green shift dress in her ad for her TV series New Girl.

If you just love Zooey’s style come on in and try our Loving the Limelight Dress, only $54. Pair it with some ballet flats for a classic look or pair it with a leather jacket and some black pumps like Demi Lovato in her neon infused ensemble.

We have a gorgeous vintage genuine leather jacket from Back Bayou Vintage in the store now for $90.

You better hurry in and snag our lovely neon gems before they’re all gone!
Hope to see ya’ soon!

We LOVE Pepa Loves
Hello Dolls,
We have some wonderful news! We just received an enormous shipment of merchandise all the way from Spain! Why Spain you ask? For Pepa Loves of course! If you’ve ever been to our store you know that RagDoll is all about bows, lace, polka-dots and all things girly and fun, and one our favorite designers that combines all of those wonderful details and more is Pepa Loves. They make quality clothing with trendy styles that you won’t find just anywhere. In fact, we are the only retailer in all of Louisiana that sells Pepa Loves merchandise. Pretty cool, right!
This season they have really outdone themselves with gorgeous bright-colored fabric, flattering cuts, and a serious attention to detail. We’re so obsessed with the line we had to do another in-house photo shoot to show y’all how incredible these clothes look on. Styled and Photographed by Rachel Roberts, and Modeled by Jenny Sklar.

This Scalloped Sweetheart Green Blouse, $42, is phenomenal, the fabric is super soft and comfortable, and the matching buttons are adorable. The blouse also looks incredible with the Rachel Berry-Blast Polka Skirt, $46, named after the Glee character Rachel Berry, who rocks similarly girly high waisted skirts.

The Collar Me Crazy Dress is also cute as a button and perfect for a summer soiree. We absolutely adore the lace collar, which adds a little feminine touch to this gorgeous blue frock. The cut is flattering, yet modest, making it a great choice if you’re looking for a versatile dress. Best of all, this designer dress, imported all the way from Spain, is only $56.

Our Beige Button Up Delight Blouse, $46, is also a knock-out. It is adorned with divine gold-rimmed pearly buttons and a detachable ascot, which can be tied into a charming bow or left loose for a more relaxed look. This blouse looks chic and sophisticated paired with a simple pair of skinny jeans or with a high waisted skirt like the Rachel Berry-Blast Skirt ,$46, pictured above.

The Root Beer Float Dress, $52, is a great fit for someone looking for an elegant ensemble. It features soft pleating on the front of the bodice and an angular collar that is all the rage right now in the fashion world. The cinched waist creates a gorgeous silhouette, while the flowing airy fabric gives off a lovely Flapper-esque retro vibe.

Finally, the birthday dress! The Doilies and Daisies Cupcake Dress, $68, is perfect for a fun birthday ensemble! It is just darling with lace adornments and frilly short sleeves, and the hot pink color screams party dress! This number could put a smile on anyone’s face!!!!
As you can see, the this line is absolutely delightful and you can only find it at one place: RagDoll! Come in quick before it’s all gone, and remember, we accept phone orders!

Extreme Make-Over RagDoll Edition
Hello Dolls!
We hope you all had a lovely weekend, because we sure did! Instead of lounging by the pool or checking out Satchmo Fest on Friday night we were remodeling the store! Now I don’t mean power-tools kind of remodeling, but it sure does look different, and darn good if I say so myself! We decided to rearrange our merchandise a bit and spruce up the whole look of the store.

One of our main motivations was separating the vintage items from our new, vintage-inspired merchandise. For those of you that have shopped here before, you know that our vintage racks were previously in the front room with the rest of our adorable sundresses and flowy blouses, which made it a bit confusing when trying to clarify what was vintage and what was not. So we solved our little problem and consolidated our vintage merchandise into the back room near the dressing rooms and accessories; and it looks adorable!

We found a nice little nook for our lovely period pieces and swapped out the home goods that had previously lived in this alcove. Our fabulous kitchen hutch and tea caddy were transplanted to the front room right next to our jammin juke box.

Now there’s more room to see our adorable home decor, particularly our fun and unique salt and pepper shakers, and our handmade tea towels!

We also relocated our organic bath products to the front room next to our tights and hosiery section.

Now the beautiful scent of hand made soaps floats elegantly through out the whole store.

Our basics also found a new home on the hanging rack that previously displayed our vintage dresses. Our comfy T’s and bright cotton separates look great with our vintage suitcase collection.

Finally, the sale section in the back swapped out with the vintage blouse rack in the front room.

This little switch-eroo left us a beautiful spot for vintage accessories, including shoes, scarves, and belts, as well as a nice tall rack for our elegant vintage evening gowns. We also have a new spiral rack for our vintage intimates and swim wear.

Come check out all the exciting aesthetic changes we’ve made recently and let us know what you think!
Happy Decorating!

Fashion Fusion: Mixing Old and New
Hello Dolls,
Are you a vintage vixen with retro flair sweating out your pores? Or are you more of a modern fashionista? Well, which ever you are, vintage clothing is perfect for all types of wardrobes. The key is knowing how to combine a great vintage find with your everyday apparel. With a little patience and some trial and error, you can really come up with some fabulous outfits. And the best part is, no one else in the room is going to have your look!
We put together a few ensembles to show you some stylish ways you can combine old and new and did a little photo shoot at RagDoll. The gorgeous photographs were taken by photographer extraordinaire Rachel Roberts, and the glamorous ensembles were modeled by none other than Jenny Sklar. Clearly, this was an in-house shoot!

The first outfit showcases awesome vintage high waisted purple trousers, with a simple but adorable RagDoll T-Shirt and some rockin heels. We have tons of these flattering pants at the store just waiting to be paired with your comfy t-shirt.

This nautical themed outfit is a great example of recurring fashion trends. The maxi skirt, once the queen of all skirts in the 80′s, has made a massive resurgence in the past year and look fabulous with a basic T.

The anchor adorned buttons looked too perfect with our Heartbreaker Anchor Bolero Jacket, so we had to pair the two together. But take off the jacket and you still have a stellar outfit, perfect for a midday walk, or dinner with the girls!

We also tackled one of our favorite vintage pieces, the short sleeve button up. We have dozens of these constantly rotating in and out of store in all colors and sizes! These blouses are great with jeans for a night out or paired with a pencil skirt. They also look fabulous with these new cuffed gray shorts and a pair of heels! The best part of these collared shirts is their versatility. They look good tucked, untucked, and even tied up at the waist!

Finally, if you’re new to wearing vintage you can start slow by simply adding vintage accessories to an adorable new dress, like what we did with this spectacular red dress! We paired this sexy skater dress with a vintage leopard print hat, a vintage black clutch, a vintage-inspired pearl necklace and snazzy new leopard print heels to compliment the hat.

The peek-a-boo back adds a little fun surprise to this snazzy ensemble and keeps the look contemporary, with just a touch of retro flair.

There are so many ways to incorporate vintage touches in your outfit, these are just some of the ones we came up with today. Just remember to mix it up a bit. You can really show your creative side and come up with some beautiful ensembles if you stay open to the endless possibilities fashion deals you. Just have fun, and if you create something really gorgeous send a pic our way and we’ll feature it on our blog!
