Fashion Fusion: Mixing Old and New
Hello Dolls,
Are you a vintage vixen with retro flair sweating out your pores? Or are you more of a modern fashionista? Well, which ever you are, vintage clothing is perfect for all types of wardrobes. The key is knowing how to combine a great vintage find with your everyday apparel. With a little patience and some trial and error, you can really come up with some fabulous outfits. And the best part is, no one else in the room is going to have your look!
We put together a few ensembles to show you some stylish ways you can combine old and new and did a little photo shoot at RagDoll. The gorgeous photographs were taken by photographer extraordinaire Rachel Roberts, and the glamorous ensembles were modeled by none other than Jenny Sklar. Clearly, this was an in-house shoot!

The first outfit showcases awesome vintage high waisted purple trousers, with a simple but adorable RagDoll T-Shirt and some rockin heels. We have tons of these flattering pants at the store just waiting to be paired with your comfy t-shirt.

This nautical themed outfit is a great example of recurring fashion trends. The maxi skirt, once the queen of all skirts in the 80′s, has made a massive resurgence in the past year and look fabulous with a basic T.

The anchor adorned buttons looked too perfect with our Heartbreaker Anchor Bolero Jacket, so we had to pair the two together. But take off the jacket and you still have a stellar outfit, perfect for a midday walk, or dinner with the girls!

We also tackled one of our favorite vintage pieces, the short sleeve button up. We have dozens of these constantly rotating in and out of store in all colors and sizes! These blouses are great with jeans for a night out or paired with a pencil skirt. They also look fabulous with these new cuffed gray shorts and a pair of heels! The best part of these collared shirts is their versatility. They look good tucked, untucked, and even tied up at the waist!

Finally, if you’re new to wearing vintage you can start slow by simply adding vintage accessories to an adorable new dress, like what we did with this spectacular red dress! We paired this sexy skater dress with a vintage leopard print hat, a vintage black clutch, a vintage-inspired pearl necklace and snazzy new leopard print heels to compliment the hat.

The peek-a-boo back adds a little fun surprise to this snazzy ensemble and keeps the look contemporary, with just a touch of retro flair.

There are so many ways to incorporate vintage touches in your outfit, these are just some of the ones we came up with today. Just remember to mix it up a bit. You can really show your creative side and come up with some beautiful ensembles if you stay open to the endless possibilities fashion deals you. Just have fun, and if you create something really gorgeous send a pic our way and we’ll feature it on our blog!
